Oppo Find X8 Highlights
The Oppo Find X8 is an exciting addition to the premium smartphone market, announced in October 2024. It promises premium features and durability for demanding users, but does it live up to its price? Let’s take a closer look.
Build and Design
The Oppo Find X8 looks and feels like a premium device. Its aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass 7i back offer solid protection against drops and scratches. It’s built to last with IP68 and IP69 ratings, making it resistant to dust and water (up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes). The dedicated tactile silent/ringing mode button is a handy provision for everyday convenience.
Display and Audio
The 120Hz AMOLED display is a treat for the eyes. It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and a peak brightness of up to 4500 nits, ensuring vivid colors and clear viewing even in direct sunlight. The Gorilla Glass 7i adds durability, and the screen works well even when wet. Dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos deliver rich, balanced audio for a great entertainment experience.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Oppo Find X8 packs a 3.63 GHz octa-core processor built on a cutting-edge 3nm process, paired with UFS 4.0 storage. This ensures blazing fast performance for apps, games, and multitasking. The phone supports 5G and Wi-Fi 7 with a 360-degree antenna for reliable connectivity. Oppo also promises up to five major Android upgrades, making it a future proof choice.
Camera Features
The 50MP triple camera system, developed with Hasselblad, is one of the best features about this device. It includes optical image stabilization for steady shots, a periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 120-degree ultrawide lens for group photos or landscapes. Hasselblad's enhancements, along with features like night mode, HDR, and AI scene detection, add to its photography capabilities. Videos can be shot in 4K with advanced stabilization and dual-view recording, making it robust for creators.
Battery and Charging
The 4800mAh battery supports 80W fast wired charging, 50W fast wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. This ensures you can top up quickly, share power with other devices, or charge wirelessly with ease.
The Oppo Find X8 is a powerful and stylish smartphone with excellent build quality, a vibrant display, and a capable camera system. While its price of KSh 115,900 may be steep, its future proof features like 5G, Wi-Fi 7, and long software support make it a great choice for users who want a premium experience.
